Richie Arndt & Kellie Rucker Despite a height of 1.52 m, Kellie Rucker from L.A. is a great lady in the international Blues scene, master of the Blues harp and an excellent singer with a powerful stage presence. For more than 20 years she has been on the road for the Blues and Roots Music. Born in Oklahoma City, her family moved within the U.S. many times. Texas, Virginia and Florida Keys were but a few destinations for finding a new home. In 1985 she moved to Southern California where in the 90’s she founded a band with Albert Collins´ guitarist Debbie Davies with whom she used to tour up and down the West Coast for a number of years. However, her musical skills were not fully addressed within a traditional Blues band, and so Kellie left the band in order to drive her own career forward. On stage or in the studio with Dizzy Gillespie, Stephen Stills, Albert Collins, James Cotton, ZZ Top, Dan Hicks, Warren Zevon, Little Feat and B.B. King, she also toured North- and South Europe, Japan and Africa. On her search to find like-minded musicians, Kellie spotted and “met” Richie Arndt on the internet where she could listen to samples of the music by the guitarist, singer, song writer and “boss“ of the Bluenatics from East Westphalia who – like Kellie herself - happens to be a “traveller“ between the genres. She immediately jumped at the idea of collaborating, which has already resulted in numerous successful gigs throughout Germany, France and Switzerland (both with the Bluenatics and as a duo).
